Concert Chorus is hard at work in preparation for their annual Christmas Concert. We set down with Merissa Estep from third hour concert chorus to ask her a few questions.

“Do you like singing in your concert chorus class?” “yes i love singing in my concert chorus class…”

“Do you think Mr. lewis has helped you develop your voice?” “yes i feel he has helped me develop my voice in many ways!”

“Do you think the christmas concert will be one of the best this year?” “ no because Dougie and Angilique helped make it a real fun experience but they switched out.”

“Do you plan on if not already trying out for a solo anytime this year?” “no i really don’t but my mom urges me to excel in chorus.”

“Do you enjoy singing by yourself or with a group of people?” “with a group of people, i think more voices would make it sound better.”

“Do you think that you might have a career in singing?” “ I’m hoping not, I’m still thinking about what i want to become.”

“What do you think is the best part of chorus?” “ being pulled out of class for special reasons.”

“Do you think any other of your classmates are ready to take on a solo?” “ yes, i just cant think of anyone at the moment.”

“Do you want to stay in chorus for the rest of middle school?” “ yes i do.”

“Do you think you would want to move up to show choir anytime soon?” “no, i cant dance and sing at the same time.”

king of kong

                 king of kong review

we watched a movie called king of kong, and of course we were asked to do a review over it. king of kong is about these to guys; steve wibie and billy mitchel. billy was one of the major champions of this certain game. the point of this game (king of kong) is to avoid the barrels and save the princess. billy mitchel workes at ricky’s. steve wibie is a teacher who teaches science in the seattle, washington area. he started playing kong in his garage. his goal was to beat billy mitchel’s score which i believe is two million points. he scored over billy’s score of two million, and submitted his score. they did not believe him and while he was at work one day they went to his house and broke into his garage and took his machine apart. a couple days later steve got a call and they told him that he should do it publicly at funspot. he flew out there chalenged billy, and billy pretty much chickened out. steve tried his hardest to get steve to try and set a new score. steve even went to a ricky’s where they were eating and talking and tried to challenge him again. billy denied the challenge. billy’s friend realized that billy was being stupid. steve recieved an award for the highest score of king of kong played in public. i liked this movie alot. it showed frustration, happiness, and liveliness. in my opinion that is what a documentary should have. i’d recomend it to anyone looking for a serious, funny, and good documentary.

dogtown and the z-boys

       dogtown and the z-boys

the people that make up the zephyr team are as followed:peggy oki, tony alva, stacey peralta, and jay adams. they all surfed before they started to skate. they surfed at an abandoned amusement park called p.o.p. (pacific ocean pier). there was a drought in which pools had to be drained and that leade to the zephyr team’s skating. there skate boards wheels were made of clay, and  if they ever skated over a rock they would’ve flew off their boards. soon there was a brand of urethane wheels that are called cadillac wheels that made skate boarding revolutionary.  the delmar nationals was the first skating tournament that the z-boys competed at. tony alva was basically the “stuff”; he was the michael jordan of skate boarding. skip englboom was the owner of the zephyr shop. he made the best surf and skate boards around. then the zephyr team split up because each one of them got different offers from major companies to skate for them. this would be a very good documentary for people who would like to know the history of surf and skate boarding. i for one enjoyed this documentary very much.

  • October,2nd,2009 at 12:34 PM

My partner angilique and i were assigned a music survey. We were to make a list of songs, and go around the school and ask which ones they liked best. After asking which song that the students liked best, we tallied up the scores. The top five songs the most people liked are: 1. mad by ne-yo. 2. dillema by nelly ft. kelly rowland. 3. all the right moves by one-republic. 4. sweet dreams by beyonce. 5. knock you down by keri hilson ft. kanye west and ne-yo. This is the top five songs of our survey.

Freaks and geeks

This is a tv show that was released in 1980 i think. Its an awesome show based on my opinion. There is this girl i forgot her name, but she use to be good. Basically she was your average girl, but that all changed with the death of her grandmother. Her parents say they don’t now who she is anymore, because she is hanging out with a different crowd of people. this is a good show for anyone who is wanting something current and interesting. I enjoy this show very much.
